Daniel Epstein

Daniel Epstein is a partner in Korein Tillery’s Chicago office, where he turns complex challenges into clear decision points and compelling arguments.
In trial courts, federal courts of appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court, Daniel has served clients in administrative, antitrust, appellate, business tort, civil rights, contract, criminal, employment, environmental, False Claims Act, immigration, insurance, intellectual property, judgment enforcement, post-conviction, privacy, professional responsibility, real estate, securities, and trade secret disputes. Daniel is particularly proud of his award-winning pro bono work, which freed two innocent men from prison, protected a domestic violence victim from her abuser, prevented an asylee’s deportation, and improved jail conditions.
Daniel has been featured on television, radio, and in print—including in The Appeal, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s, Politico, and Injustice Watch—and his published works have appeared in Slate, The Washington Post, University of Chicago Law Review Online, Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, Law.com, Law360, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Chicago Unbound, Washington University Political Review, and elsewhere. A compelling communicator, Daniel is a Moth StorySLAM winner, Mulroy excellence in appellate advocacy and oral argument prize winner, and Hinton Moot Court champion.
Before joining Korein Tillery, Daniel worked for another Chicago-based law firm, chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, and served as the director of government relations for a global education company. Daniel attended law school at the University of Chicago and clerked for The Honorable David Tatel of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
