Audrey Austin

Audrey Austin is an experienced attorney in Korein Tillery's Chicago office, bringing senior regulatory leadership and deep enforcement expertise to the firm's complex litigation practice involving AI, antitrust, and consumer protection.

Audrey is counsel of record in Isbell v. Suno, 1:26-cv-14005 (D. Mass.), a multi-jurisdictional right-of-publicity and biometric privacy action against Suno, an AI music-generation platform, brought on behalf of recording artists including Jason Isbell and David Lowery. The complaint asserts claims under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, and a number of state right of publicity laws, challenging Suno's use of artists' name and likenesses without consent. Media coverage of this matter includes a feature on CBS News, as well as coverage in Law360, Wall Street Journal, and Reuters as well as various music outlets including Music Business Worldwide.

Before joining Korein Tillery, Audrey held senior leadership roles at two federal agencies overseeing consumer protection enforcement, including serving as Acting Deputy Director of the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she led investigative and litigation work involving emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, algorithmic decision-making, and data privacy. She also served as Special Counsel to the Enforcement Director and Senior Litigation Counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, advising on regulatory strategy and litigation involving financial products and services.

Audrey holds a two-year Administrative Law Fellowship with the American Bar Association (2026–2028), supporting her scholarly work on AI and administrative law.

Prior to her government service, Audrey practiced at a Chicago-based law firm, clerked for the Honorable Sandra L. Townes in the Eastern District of New York, and was a staff attorney in the New York Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice. Audrey earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her law degree from Harvard Law School.
